A 96V MPPT (maximum power point tracking) solar charge controller is a device that is used to regulate the charging of a 96V battery bank from a solar panel array. It is typically used in off-grid solar power systems, such as those found in RVs, boats, cabins, and other remote locations.
Like a 72V MPPT solar charge controller, a 96V MPPT charge controller is designed to optimize the power output of the solar panel array by continuously tracking the maximum power point (MPP) of the panels and adjusting the voltage and current of the charge accordingly. This allows the controller to maximize the amount of power that is transferred from the panels to the battery bank, which can result in faster charging times and improved overall system efficiency.
In addition to regulating the charging of the battery bank, the MPPT charge controller also provides protection against overcharging, overdischarging, and short-circuits, ensuring that the battery bank is charged safely and effectively. Some MPPT charge controllers also have additional features, such as a display screen that shows the status and performance of the system, and the ability to control and monitor the system remotely via a smartphone app or other device.
